  • 250ml of water (filtered)
  • 1 cup of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

And ¼ cup of each of these:

  • Chamomile flower
  • Marshmallow root
  • Lemon juice
  • Ginger root (either dried or fresh but grated)

Preparation method:

First, pour the filtered water into a saucepan. Second, add all of the mentioned herbs and boil them. After a while, reduce the heat and leave the mixture simmer. When the half of the water evaporates, remove the saucepan from the heat.

Strain it using a regular strainer or a clean cloth and while the mixture is lukewarm, add the honey, mix, then add the lemon. Stir everything very well and store it in an air-tight container. This cough suppression remedy can stay in the fridge up to two months.

How to consume it:

You should use one tablespoon three times a day. If your child is the one with the cough, give them one teaspoon per day. This syrup is perfectly safe for children, but of course, the dosage is smaller.
