Homemade ketchup… never thought of making it? Well, here’s a an idea. It’s super easy, extremely tasty and hey… you’ll make it! It’ll be special for you!
You’re on a diet, but you’re craving for some ketchup? Don’t worry, you can have it! You know you should avoid popular-brand-ketchup, as it does not contain a single nutrient that you need for your diet. But we’re offering you this one, which is sugar-free, with no questionable ingredients and perfectly healthy! And the process is super easy: it only involves stirring, but hey… that’s good for getting rid of your arm fat :).
Ingredients:
For a nice amount of ketchup, you’ll need:
4 kg tomatoes
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon dry garlic powder
1 tablespoon apple vinegar
Preparation:
Chop the tomatoes and using a tomato juicer separate the seeds and peels. Put the tomato juice in a big pot, adding the sugar. Cook it on a low simmer for 1 hour, but stir occasionally. Towards the end of that 1 one hour, add the salt.
When you see that it thickens, you know it’s done. Before we continue, let’s make a suggestion: if you want your ketchup more creamy, put the mixture in a blender to puree the tomatoes. Then add the vinegar, the garlic powder and the oregano. Cook it for 30 more minutes. And voila! Your healthy, tasty homemade ketchup is ready!
Prepare some jars and lids. For the ketchup to last longer, you need to heat the jars in the oven (on 100°C). The jars stay there throughout the whole process: you pick one jar at a time, fill it with ketchup and close with the lid.
You made your first homemade ketchup! Now, serve it to your friends and family with a nice piece of mozzarella and enjoy the compliments :)! You’ll sure get a tone of them!
