Cleaning your eyelids can help prevent future styes. Choose a baby shampoo, mix with a little warm water and gently wipe the eyelids with a clean cotton or cloth. You can do this every day or two.

Analgesics
Taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen may help relieve symptoms if it is painful. Follow your doctor’s instructions to make sure you are taking the correct dose.
When to Contact a Physician
If the stye becomes larger, painful, or does not go away within a few days after starting treatment at home, contact your doctor. Sometimes they require a professional drainage. Your doctor may also prescribe an antibiotic cream.
