The health benefits of oregano are something you’d never think of when you’re consuming it. For all of us, oregano is just a spice, a plant, something we use to give a good taste to our food.
We use it in pizzas, sauces, pasta etc. There’s a lot of recipes which promote. At least, we have suggested oregano in many of our recipes! And yet, we’re not sure about the health benefits of it. Let’s see what we could find out.

Oregano is widely used in alternative medicine, although we only use it in the kitchen. In other words, it is so healthy that people use it as a cure for numerous diseases. It is closely related to mint, so it has some very similar health benefits. Oregano gives the aroma and tastes better when dried, though. That’s why we mostly use it as a spice.

One of the most important roles of oregano in our lives is that of an antioxidant. We desperately need antioxidants for our immune system, to keep us away from dangerous diseases, cancer included. It has antibacterial property, so especially defends us from any skin or gut infections. In simpler terms, oregano, other than flavoring our food, also works in our favor in fighting diseases.
2. Good bone health
In second place, we see the health benefit of oregano for bone health. As we get older, we feel our bones weaken, and we need enough vitamins and minerals to prevent osteoporosis. Since it has a great amount of iron and calcium, oregano is a great solution for those kinds of problems with the bones. Guys, we don’t want to allow our bones to give up on us, right? So, let’s put oregano on our daily menu!
3. More energy
Finally, we’d like to emphasize that oregano has an enormous amount of vitamin B, iron, calcium. Those combined, help the cells regenerate, and that helps us in recovering our strength, brings more energy into our lives and makes us feel rejuvenated.
